    It popped in my head this morning that "trickle down" is how politicians dressed up "pro business" in "pro labor" camouflage. And it's still working somehow.

    Closeted racists who were otherwise pro labor generally were given a "whites only" option and they took the bait, fracturing labor solidarity and neutering their own power.
