I pushed through the ferns and the dark forest cover gave way to a sunny mountain lake.

I considered going back and trying again but I was afraid I would end up somewhere else yet, so I went on.

I met a pair of cranes honking softly at each other. Unwilling to disturb their discussion, I went on.

I reached a house with a patio, but no one in sight. I am sitting there now, waiting for the owner. If there is none, I will settle here.
