I've lived in the west & midwest, I've visited the south and the north. I've gone down canal paths and mountain backroads. The beauty is seen only in the nature yet to be spoiled.
It's not that it can't exist, it's simply continuously overlooked and deemed unimportant. A grossly utilitarian culture which colors everything in life.
If I didn't know any alternatives, I'd be agreeing with you. But I've seen it. It isn't just a pretty-europe-vacation thing, it used to exist here, too. It used to exist here and people are so unwilling to think about that, so they cope saying it's impossible, or it's unneeded, or acktually it's better the way we have it.
I'm sick of it.
