TL;DR I think if I lost my current source of income and couldn't successfully find a new way to remain self-employed I'd probably exit working in tech and just find some other reasonable source of income and just keep doing what I do, but only as a hobby I guess. I have no interest in going through this retarded rat-race to be treated like trash by Big Tech.

I have some options though because of my somewhat wide breadth experience. Move out to the woods, find a small ISP, work for them. I'd be alright with that. Maybe even start my own fiber/WISP somewhere to satisfy my needs and make some money providing services to others.
