I thought it was bad begging and clawing for a job back in like 2009. There was an opening for job at Epic (health) and I was fully or even way over qualified for everything except having no real AIX experience except fixing a couple things at a sawmill whose operations were coordinated via some custom software on a shitty AIX box.

I was doing my best to explain to whoever it was I was talking to in their interview process that AIX is just another Unix and if I can learn Linux, BSDs, and Solaris I can quickly come up to speed on AIX and they were just like "I don't know what you're saying, but the paper in front of me says you must have this AIX experience sorry"
