For me to buy a game at full price at launch, it mostly needs to be a sequel from the series that releases once in a while - Doom 2016, Borderlands 2, Metroid Dread, Metroid Prime Remaster.

Otherwise, I can wait years for massive discounts (Atelier Sophie 2, bought this March. Still waiting for a drop on Indiana Jones, will wait for drop on Cyberpunk 2077, etc).

And then there are games that never drop significantly enough and I don't have enough drive to test them - this is a Nintendo tactic that will probably forever prevent me from playing Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom.

So... I am not that worried about the price increase, I can easily wait 5+ years on some of these games, I have a big enough backlog to play.
