Lauren WeinsteinThere are changes that #Google could make in their generative AI deployments that would vastly reduce the amount of AI Slop and be enormously positive for users. But since Google has never had an "AI Ethicist" role not a member of the engineering teams actually building these systems, the voice needed to address these concerns to power just has not been present. AI Ethicist is a full time job now, and needs to be an individual NOT also involved in building the systems, but in a position to evaluate them fairly without fear of retribution from above.
