To not see your smile, or hear your voice, or hold you when you need comfort? To not be with you to experience all this life has to offer us?”Caius covered his mouth and quietly wept—and Francis’s heart almost broke at the sound. “Because it does.” Francis took Caius’s face in his hands and forced a smile through trembling lips. “I assure you, Caius Jardin. With every ounce of my being, I would rather be here with you. Be *anywhere* with you. Every day.
