Forget the 9-Euro-Ticket, I wish Germany adopted tap on/off with contactless for public transit, but I don’t have my hopes up for any digitalization over here

Die Krähenpost (kraehenpost@mastodon.social)'s status on Wednesday, 24-Aug-2022 04:20:49 JST Die Krähenpost @Gargron @Natureshadow it’s gone. I loved it, cause it also worked in Berlin. The system in London is just great, but it only works for single travelers, not for whole families (especially for those without UK credit cards).

Sudden D. (suddendef@mastodon.social)'s status on Wednesday, 24-Aug-2022 17:04:54 JST Sudden D. @Gargron, to be fair, there is an app that does this and you don’t have to care about paper tickets.

Eugen Rochko (gargron@mastodon.social)'s status on Friday, 26-Aug-2022 09:45:14 JST Eugen Rochko @markoer The 9-Euro-Ticket is not going to be a thing. I give up my privacy just the same way by buying tickets through the app, just in a far less convenient way. Tap on/off does not require closing gates.

markoer (markoer@mastodon.lol)'s status on Friday, 26-Aug-2022 09:45:15 JST markoer @Gargron why would you want to give your privacy away for free when the 9 Euro ticket is much cheaper to manage (it’s all tax money anyway) and anonymous?
Also, can you imagine installing tourniquets and closing gates and accesses over Infratructure that was never meant to be closed on the first place? The first thing that will be ruined are th elevators for disabled people and prumps, as in Germany they are built to access directly the trains from the ground level.
