People writing serious big deal sincere articles about the visual language of windows 11 is so damn funny to me
All our UIs are basically 3D scenes running on stupidly powerful GPUs capable of rendering incredibly complex layered and textured views of rococo decadence. Instead you got big fucking monochrome rectangles with some sans-serif and your brand's unique shade of blue, it's rendered with a leaning tower of javascript. Big tech companies go through their mid-life crisis by commissioning their own typeface that's just yet another goddamn neo-grotesque that 99% of the world can't tell apart from arial, 1% can tell apart because "it looks worse and feels off". Nothing feels fully consistent, yet everything looks the exact same
Some "apps" have a design that don't feel "native" on windows 11? Give me a fucking break, every single modern software looks equally at home on a mac, android, or windows environment, in that it looks like amorphous flat bullshit, and lacks basic affordances that were a solved problem 30 years ago, such as telling which window has focus, or having a scrollbar you can see
