     The cross on the top of Mont Royal in Montreal is traditionally lit purple between the death of a pope and the appointment of their successor.

     Since Pope Benedict resigned a decade before he died, I'm wondering what the protocol is.

     @evan it's the usual white tonight. I didn't notice if it was different last night though. I hadn't realized it had other colors.
