   @tokyo_0 When I worked, all my jobs were in service so yearly events lost all meaning since I was always working on them.

   Now it's the other way, I'm not out and about and so I don't see people rushing around for whatever holiday is coming.

   I agree. Perhaps time is entirely a construct without meaning.

     @Hoigwai Moving here from the UK certainly changed Christmas for me. Even before that I was sometimes on-call. For most of my time here it's only NYD that's been a guaranteed day off (one year I even had a job interview on Christmas Day... perhaps they were testing me ?). Now I'm focused more on the Hindu calendar, with a significant day tomorrow, New Year has felt less like the main event. Meaning really is something we give, and something we need to agree on to share, I guess.

     Think this might be the first New Year's Eve I've not listened to #kohaku since... maybe 2013, when I was living in a slightly oppressive shared house. It doesn't really feel like New Year this year. Christmas didn't feel much like Christmas, either. Perhaps I've crossed the threshold of pandemic self-isolation and am now in full-on hermit territory, where time no longer has meaning ?
