@jaredzimmerman well, there isn't gonna be any easily found centralized usage statistics when it comes to the fediverse... that's kinda not how a decentralized network works :)
from personal experience i can tell you that Pleroma (and derivatives like Akkoma) are also very popular and would be easy to add support for, given the API for them is based off the Mastodon API.
Misskey (and derivatives like Foundkey and Calckey) are also rather popular but don't support the Mastodon API, so you'd have to use a different method if that's what you're using
@jaredzimmerman@social.jaredzimmerman.com honestly a bit disappointing as a Calckey user. Those 500K on other software are more likely to be potential users of your extension tbh as right now people on non-masto instances tend to be more in the power user demographic and would benefit from an extension like that much more than an average joe.
@thatonecalculator@root Thank! based on that probably not expanding beyond Mastodon for now, given that user accounts on other services are less than 500k maybe Pixelfed since its highly compatible with Mastodon
@thatonecalculator as I said before add it as a feature request on https://graze.canny.io/feature-requests and I'll take it into consideration, I don't use those services and since no one is paying me to do this (thanks 2 people who have donated $5!) there isn't much motivation for me to spend time on it.
@thatonecalculator@jaredzimmerman That's the problem with closed sourced software - if your needs don't match the author's vision you have to do all the work yourself from scratch.
