   Just found out #fedilab has an option to display embeds in your timeline no clue why this is off by default

     The previews can also break the sensitive media thing is another reason why.

     I have some accounts I follow that post NSFW that the picture is blurred but the link preview isn't which is mostly amusing for me but only because they haven't posted something that would really bother me yet

     Oh cool. I just figured what was going on was the poster was only marking the message sensitive media but not the whole message, so the preview was not being hidden due to that.
