@lxo Do you have any comments on the rapid spread of Rust in Linux? Does the Linux-libre team have any plans on replacing the trademarks?

rust is another programming language, for which freedom-respecting implementations exist. I'm not aware of any reason to replace any reference to the language name in programs implemented in the language. the trademark governs mostly implementations of the language, but even then, if it comes to the worst, "fixing" it is no harder than a global string replace to use a different name. it's no big deal, and surely not a software freedom matter as it is, to the best of my knowledge. I've seen plenty of rumors that AFAICT are misguided. if you have any solid information suggesting otherwise, please let me know.

@cyberspook @lxo This year's Rust trademark policy update was commented on in one thread on the Trisquel forum. The conclusion? It is a lot better than the old one (aka the Mozilla trademark policy) and is OK now
