Think he’ll actually step down now as Twitter’s CEO? I actually think so, but only because he’s miserable trying to do that job and failing so badly at it.
@georgetakei and, I find hard to believe he didn't fudge it to get it to be only 57.7. Unless he wanted it that way. Maybe he found an out due to pressure at Tesla to actually do his job?
@georgetakei I’d bet he was already told by investors to step down so he made this poll to do more of his vox populi cosplay BS. I’d also say there’s a 50/50 chance his last act as CEO is to ban every user that voted “yes”.
@georgetakei The stupid thing is... it didn't have to be that way. I understand wanting to make changes to something you just bought. Fair enough. However, he didn't have to come in, fire 80ish percent of the employees, start banning journalists and other people who made him angry, ban people from sharing links to other sites, and then wonder "Why don't people like me?" GEE... I WONDER...
@georgetakei Let's see if he will claim that the bots voted or agree to leave. It seems that the investor who helped him buy Twitter persuaded Elon to leave the directors of Twitter and Elon started this fake poll and pretended to will be obedient to the will of the people.
@georgetakei Considering how in love he is with control, I doubt he will relinquish any even if he isn’t visibly running things. After all, it seems the only ones getting banned now are those he personally dislikes, not those that pose a real threat to anyone else.
@georgetakei I think his investors told him to find another CEO while he was in Qatar and he did the poll knowing he would lose but to save a little face. "See I've been for the will of the people all along and will follow the poll results" (Edit fixed spelling)
@georgetakei I think it's likely but not because of the poll. I saw an article (not going to try to find it now) dated back in the middle of November that said he was planning to find someone to run Twitter. It won't make a huge difference though. He will still own Twitter and the new CEO will be a yes man.
@georgetakei He'll step down just not sure when, not soon though. Guessing he'll either install a puppet or someone just as bad for now. Don't think he has the faintest clue what he's doing.
@georgetakei I said it in an earlier post that I believe he will do a Vietnam style pullout where he keeps promising to leave but will only do so when the shit really hits the fan (antitrust indictment, maybe?)
@georgetakei I feel like we're about to run into a monkey's paw situation with this, but I can't deny how funny it is for Elon to see how much people don't like him
@georgetakei I think he'll step down sooner or later, but mostly from investor pressure (both from Twitter investors and Tesla investors). Tesla and likely SpaceX are feeling the effects of his distraction, although I do feel different CEOs are long overdue in both Tesla and Twitter.
@georgetakei his ego will never let him give up birdcite… and then the rest of his companies will be able to find more effective leadership. Meanwhile, is he thinking of trying to run for president?!
@georgetakei I think so, too. I think he's being pressured to leave (by Tesla peeps & foreign investors) & probably (at least subconsciously) he realizes he's a liability to #Twitter
