寮 (ryo@social.076.ne.jp)'s status on Monday, 12-Dec-2022 23:16:12 JST 寮 Debian and Devuan are getting worse and worse.
Every time I update PHP, it automagically installs Apache2 against my will, even though Nginx is already installed and running.
Also, while logged in as root:
# rc-service nginx status
zsh: command not found: rc-service
# nginx --help
zsh: command not found: nginx
# sudo rc-service nginx status
nginx is running.
# sudo nginx --help
nginx: invalid option: "-"

Terminal Autism (terminalautism@social.076.ne.jp)'s status on Tuesday, 13-Dec-2022 06:45:46 JST Terminal Autism @ryo Going to have to download the package and customize it before installing just to remove a dependency that isn't a dependency. Isn't that great? -

寮 (ryo@social.076.ne.jp)'s status on Tuesday, 13-Dec-2022 07:11:16 JST 寮 @TerminalAutism I already did, and it's 2 commands, because you will need to run "apt autoremove" after removing Apache.
But still doesn't solve the problem, because I have to remove it every single time PHP gets a new version... -

Terminal Autism (terminalautism@social.076.ne.jp)'s status on Tuesday, 13-Dec-2022 07:28:47 JST Terminal Autism @ryo If autoremove removes it, then it must not be a dependency, so why does it get installed automatically? Debian.... 寮 likes this.
