   I do not know enough material science to figure out how to make asthetically pleasing, functional feathers for a cyborg body that can fly.
   
   
   
   
   
   especially since the best solution today for doing research on bird flight is either real feathers, or ripstop nylon in a plastic frame

     @puniko Thought experiment where I'm trying to build a cyborg that doesn't end up like icarus; the life support technology (or brain uploading) does not exist yet

     @puniko There's no good place to attatch wings to a human skeleton, and humans are too heavy anyway. Would need to start from scratch and just transplant the CNS into a life support shell.
     
     Preferably make the wings out of something sturdier than wax too

     @puniko Best I can come up with is LDPE-laminated carbon fiber gossamer with a central vein made of ...something. Maybe nylon 6,6.
     
     Someone is going to be inhabiting the body for probably a long time, it should look pretty
