@EmpressElect I run Unisystem for fantasy (Dungeons and Zombies), and 5th ed. Call of Cthulhu. I want to play Ryuutama, MAID, Double Cross, and Night Wizard but I probably won't get to until I go back to Japan.

Its a remaster of basic/expert DND rules from 1980.

@EmpressElect classic 3th edition,
we got the starter box set back in 2004 with a few adventure books and things escalated from there.

@Some_German_Guy Ah, back when Haste gave extra actions, so even casters wanted to buff themselves with it.

@EmpressElect the old world of darkness systems, the mechwarrior rpg, shadowrun, dark heresy, and during its time dnd 3.
also some homebrew things, but none of those were good.

@WalrusAurelius @EmpressElect If it was oWoD it would have been Hunter the Reckoning. Vigil is nWoD.

@EmpressElect Last game I played in was Hunter the Vigil (old WoD). Was pretty fun.
System matters for what you wanna do, people matter more for making it fun. Old Battletech RPG, Iron Kingdoms RPG, FFG 40K, and FFG Star Wars were all fun with my college buddies as long as the guys would just sit down and play

@Christ_is_Lord @EmpressElect The thing was it was edgy then. It played at this whole "Christian Conservatism is the norm let's piss those people off" bit that GTA and South Park also did. NWoD isn't edgy it's just the same as every other piece of Shitlib media cause now that they've overcome any real sense of Christian cultural norms, there isn't anything in the public square that they want to complain about.

@WalrusAurelius Ahh, OWoD, before it became infested with the gay shit while becoming a worse system. Played a few of those myself. In one, a game where we each played a separate book (one was a vampire, one a hunter, etc) I was a Wraith that possessed technology, with True Belief. And in another I played an ancient Malkavian who didn't realize he was a vampire.
But yeah, system variety matters, as does the group you play with.

@EmpressElect @WalrusAurelius Lol, WOD has always been extremely edgy a gay. It was just fun in the 90s, not the hyper sensitive and tiptoe shit
