Can anyone read Chinese? This would probably be traditional, based on the date. Mao Zedong didn't reform the writing system until '49. -

So one side is the moon and the other side is the sun showing mercy. Maybe he used it for arbitrary decisions. Or he was Chinese two face. -

@Twoinchdestroya @josh I’m not completely sure what this guy was going for when he wrote it but here is the translation.
Heads side: TaiYin = Moon (It’s a kind of Chinese astrology term to describe someone’s fortune. Like Westerners use horoscopes. They are incredibly complicated and I don’t know what it means)
Tails side (note it is upside down in the picture): from Right to Left: TaiYang - sunshine DaFa - good fortune ChiBei - mercy

@1nter4ri @Twoinchdestroya @josh translation checks out, maybe the guy kept it and flipped it every day to see if he was going to have good fortune or bad luck that day. josh likes this. -

@josh "The words at left called: “Tai-in”, if in a form of fortune telling is meaning “Moon”. And behind the meaning should be Wealth. And second words in left called:” Tai-yang” it’s the same as Chinese words Sun. If in form of fortune telling could be meaning dignified. Next to the sun, it’s called “Da-fa”, meaning prosperity. And the last one called “cí bēi”, mercy."-my Taiwan friend josh likes this.
