   Sometimes I just scroll through the #Hachyderm community tab just to see the types of people on the server. Y’all we are the most nerdy fucking cat people with dogs and chainsaws and fucking whiskey hackers. So many queer SREs and bicycle mountain bros and people paddle boarding with mustache wax and I love every one of us.

   I stop and pause and remind myself everyone has a story.

     I’m mostly just happy we have a spot to hang out that isn’t a corporate “social” channel and isn’t a product within itself.

     Feels nice just to be able to have psychological safety and be weird without judgement. Definitely healthier for me.

     On my #Akkoma instance I added #hachyderm, #mstdnca, InfoSec.exchange and a bunch of other #Canadian instances into what it calls a "bubble" timeline which basically stitches a timeline from multiple instances as if they're part of the local timeline and it's a glorious mix of Canadiana from the Canadian instances, with techy/nerdy posts from #Hachyderm & InfoSec.exchange, it's amazing!
     
     Best of all, no algorithms to push me around for ad views!
