     @rin those can be put on the tray without hassle and spillage. they only give you 100ml and hope you don't want more, since you "had water". the open water on board is finite and reserved for tea and cofe. bottled water would mean they have to give you more and it would be a hassle to store and transport.

     @kaia that makes sense, though I have only ever seen cubed water before in a turkish hotel. all other airlines I've flown with just pour you water in a paper cup
