@Einbrecht @blackjackson I knew about Operation Paperclip because I was taught it in fucking Florida public schools. We learned a lot about medicine from Japanese vivisections. There was a lesson about how we pardoned war criminals in exchange for knowledge they obtained from killing people.
This was covered in my regular (non-AP) history classes, and I was only in highschool until 10th grade before switching to homeschool/dual-enrollment. I really don't think it's a huge secret. The kind of people who don't know we accepted German scientists are not the same kinds of people who even know what the fuck a jew is.

@blackjackson @josh You're not wrong. I don't dispute the historical facts and never have. Paperclip in the US, and similar initiatives in other countries, occurred.
I simply mean that Kanye is disaster of a human being. Too chaotic to be a reliable messenger. I don't always give full context to what I'm thinking -- that's a failing of mine.
Though he may serve as a catalyst for a reliable messenger to surface.
People with impulse control issues make terrible messengers as a rule. I'm sure there are exceptions, but Kanye is not one of them.

@Einbrecht @josh It's only a disaster if you fall for edited clips. You think people would look past a clip and seek out context by now. Everything Kanye said was true.
Nazi scientists literally got us to the moon. The U.S. government put them to work for NASA. This is just historic fact. It just sounds crazy when someone like Kanye points out that Nazis have done impressive things.

@josh @Einbrecht @blackjackson The thing is Josh, in 1945-50s people like Werner Von Braun were perceived as cleared of any war crimes by the Allied Occupation government in Germany. People like Doctor Mengele were not. If Mengele was caught he would be carted off to Israel for a gristly death like Eichmann.
There was a wave of Jewish -> German litigation in the 70s, where Jews began to come forward with eyewitness accounts of alleged Nazi war crimes, many against previously exonerated Germans like Von Braun, namely in his case that slave labour was used in German jet engine assembly plants, where a Polish Jew claimed Von Braun executed prisoners to motivate the prisoners.
What I'm trying to say: if you went back to 1950s America and asked people about Paperclip, they would be nonplussed, they would see it as a positive, where Anti-Communist Germans are serving the greater good by working with America, The notion that Paperclip was a scandal in any sense is a present day narrative. A false narrative.

@Rotten_Ronnie @Einbrecht @blackjackson I don't think Paperclip was presented as a scandal. The Japanese, who WERE all pardoned because they only murdered and dissected and raped the Chinese, is considered one.
