    @BetoOnSecurity @horse I'm seriously bad at math but 1-7 games are not unheard of; I mean I feel as if lopsided 20-to-something matches have happened several times before even in officially recorded World Cups matches..?

      I wonder what the highest football score is where each team scored a prime number of points and their sum is also prime.

      @BetoOnSecurity In professional, the highest recorded score in which both teams score is prime and total score is also prime is... 3-2.

      All solutions of this problem will take the form of x-2 where x is the lower member in a pair of twin primes. Since there aren't many twin primes less than 100, it was pretty easy to brute force here: https://www.pro-football-reference.com/boxscores/game_scores_find.cgi

      @FerdiZ @BetoOnSecurity Hey Ferdi! Beto and I are both USians, so I automatically assumed we were talking about American football. That being said, there are two problems with your solution: 1 is not prime, and 1+7 is also not prime.

      @FerdiZ @BetoOnSecurity You are 100% correct! 17 and 19 are "twin primes": https://mathworld.wolfram.com/TwinPrimes.html

        Twin Primes -- from Wolfram MathWorld
        from Weisstein, Eric W.
        Twin primes are pairs of primes of the form (p, p+2). The term "twin prime" was coined by Paul Stäckel (1862-1919; Tietze 1965, p. 19). The first few twin primes are n+/-1 for n=4, 6, 12, 18, 30, 42, 60, 72, 102, 108, 138, 150, 180, 192, 198, 228, 240, 270, 282, ... (OEIS A014574). Explicitly, these are (3, 5), (5, 7), (11, 13), (17, 19), (29, 31), (41, 43), ... (OEIS A001359 and A006512). All twin primes except (3, 5) are of the form 6n+/-1. It is conjectured that there are...

      @horse @BetoOnSecurity

      There must be some mathematic, alorithmic, whatevermajigic thing that one does to find whatever the whatever, but something plus two that becomes a prime number is what the problem is looking for right? Like maybe 17 and 2? But not 19 and 2 right because 21 is divisible by 3 and 7?

      Whatever this thread is making me hate math more. Have fun mathing and maybe you'll find more whatever math funamajig. I'm out. (For the night at least.)
