I hope that Trump, Elon, Kanye, and Nick have taught people a valuable lesson:
This is not a movie. There is no protagonist. No hero is going to swoop in and save the day.
The most prominent people on 'your side' can and will be compromised. Centralized movements will be beheaded every time. Figureheads will be the first targets for humiliation rituals.
The path forward is keeping information available, testing and using decentralized technology, starting families, and making friends (especially local irl friends).

@boochparadise uh, in that definition, it's not like they can kill jesus twice.

@josh If you are a Christian ultimately your movement is by definition centralized. Part of the problem with Trunp, Elon, ect, is that people want incoherent things from them.

@josh I can't think of a single successful movement without a figurehead, or at least a martyr. People can't rally behind a pure idea, they need leaders or they will do nothing indefinitely.

@Zettour In this instance, it's wanna-be figureheads looking for a movement, not a movement looking for figureheads. The people clinging to these people are aimless and unhappy looking for anyone promising them a cure.

@josh Gamergate failed because of this mindset, we need leaders organizing the masses to change politics
