     I agree.
     I keep seeing the "smartphone zombies" in the subway.

     @tk 110% this, while I think people would be better off without their smartphones generally speaking I also think that smartphone addiction is a symptom of a bigger problem.

     Maybe the fact that so many people are addicted to drugs (including caffeine and alcohol), computers, smartphones, and the Internet shows that modern day life isn't so great for mental health after all.
     
     If modern day life was great, so many people wouldn't be trying so hard to escape it.

     @tk I live on drugs (coffee in the mornings, sometimes liquor to fall asleep) during the winter.
