@RoyalJohnny242 @Vsolid America since the Revolution has been all about breaking down kinship ties because when you look at many of rebellions in America they came from extremely clannish people. It’s not just that they had a community, it’s that they saw someone and said “oh that’s my cousin’s boy”. The stronger the in-group the stronger the solidarity. The attack on the family by several different forces has at its heart a mission to make true rebellion, not the consumptive cultural kind, impossible

@RoyalJohnny242 @Vsolid Honestly, learn card games. Maybe this just speaks to my childhood experiences but I have vivid memories of father playing cards with his uncles and learning those same games lately have helped me tap into that blood memory. And blood is more potent than digital friendships. Learning all of these old games has made me want to go down to the senior center with my son and play cards with the elderly.

@Vsolid It’s not a binary thing. One can spend all day hiking trails and then come home and spend the next 6 hours being mad at the bad screen.

@Vsolid Depends on your level of self-awareness and management of it. I’ve been in that position multiple times.

@RoyalJohnny242 @Vsolid I know exactly how this is going to sound, but it’s just an observable phenomenon. The more you see cousin-marriage in a people, the harder they are to rule. What any of this has to do with playing cards is that this is not a phenomenon accessible or desired by most people but you can at least simulate some of its effects by learning what your blood relatives played before technological amusements and finding those people who still have a foot in the old ways. You will have a chance at accessing those cultural blood memories.

@Vsolid @RoyalJohnny242 I’m not sure anyone wants to be the one known for arguing whether or not cousin-marriage would cure inceldom
