There are anti lockdown protests happening in many city's across #China including: #Beijing#Shanghai#Guangzhou#Shengzhen#Wuhan#Urumqi#Zhengzhou, and other. I don't expect them to become anywhere near close to regime toppling. However one can be sure that the Beijing government will know them. Which may lead to a change in policy down the road. Thank you to everyone on the streets. What your doing may make a difference in a few months time.
I definitely agree on adding badly organized lockdowns.
Would be really big if they overthrow the #CCP. However at this stage I feel the chances are very low. Protests are happening in many places, yes. However the numbers of people participating so far are small. The King has had enough time to get rid of anyone with power who disagrees with his direction for China. We can expect lots of people to get visitations from the police in the coming days after the streets are cleared.
Protest triggers: #Foxconn lockdown, workers not paid and factory breakout. #Urumqi fire in locked down building killing people. Some say 200. #worldcup on TV, Chinese can see the rest of the world with no lock downs. Two years of lock downs damaging peoples lives and livelihoods.
@eben Add badly organized lockdowns in cities such aus Shanghai, Guangzhou where people are not completely isolated from the world and the world wide web. These lockdowns exposed the corruption and ineptitude of the #CCP. And the arbitrary nature of many repressive methods within #China. Will the people overthrow the regime? It would be massive for world politics and #BRICS.
