@bleedingphoenix @PurpCat @phnt the people on this instance are mostly not like the person on the OP. And the # of people on here I'd like to collaborate on stuff with on here is minuscule if not 0, for a myriad of reasons (none really negative)

@bleedingphoenix @menherahair @mischievoustomato @phnt also remember this wouldn't have happened if people weren't acting like vrchat mirror dwellers, where saying hi to them intrudes into their personal space and makes them freak out.
But you've got sharty kids on one side and the Bluesky pronoun people on the other, and then in between third worlders saying SAAAAAR, is it any wonder they've fallen apart? -

@menherahair @mischievoustomato @PurpCat @phnt it's further atomization, further decline in interpersonal relations and social participation, further interaction with large corporate systems. there's just nothing beautiful about how these things are shaping up -

@bleedingphoenix @mischievoustomato @PurpCat @phnt microblogging is even less of an interaction than asking the lady at the counter for marlboros. the main goals are collaborative space building and participation, other people are merely tolerated on account of contributing to these. goals of software development are *not* collaboration and participation, and thus even more so the presence of other people has to earn its place in similar manner. op makes a good point that they may be getting robbed of the chances to do so tho. -

@bleedingphoenix @PurpCat @menherahair @phnt Again, the interpersonal relations and social participation with people like on the OP isn't a good idea. I honestly don't think there's any real collaboration lost, but people working on stuff on their own who wouldn't have dealt with anyone else either. And with the stuff being created and put online, you could see communities of these prop up

@bleedingphoenix @PurpCat @menherahair @phnt why do people have fascinations with communities? You can just enjoy things on your own.

@mischievoustomato @PurpCat @menherahair @phnt I'm aware, and I do this. but the projects being talked about here are social that are being atomized, learning skills being automated. I guess I'm in the minority here in thinking that this only contributes to deteriorating mental states.
