   @japananon Private groups are actually supported since version 5.10.0, but you can't create / manage them, they must be created somewhere else (e.g. on Lemmy).

     @japananon This is not its final form. Private groups were planned all along, my intention was to have proper subscriber-only posts built on top of private groups.

     @silverpill Regarding the Groups incorporated into Mitra, right now it seems anybody can Follow and post to a Group freely, but from what I read about the AP Groups spec, it's possible (maybe?) to restrict membership/posting privileges or make Groups entirely private.

     Is the current Groups implementation in its final form, or will there be extensions on its functionality in future?
