@jannem @timbray I think you have summed it up very well. There's use but not need and I can't see people willing to subscribe, or not enough willing to pay high enough subscriptions, for it to work.

Around me (non-IT people) I see a very random-seeming split between people who reach for AI tools in their personal life and those who don't.But I see absolutely nobody who would be willing to pay for the service. Whatever revenue they can get for AI use would be limited to what they can bake in as a "free" service in a phone contract or similar.
Even if some industries switch wholesale to AI tooling, that level of spending seems plainly impossible.
