    Hmm, this typewriter won't work unless I put it on top of the PC laptop 🤪

    Will need a hard surface underneath, like an unused network switch or something. 🤪 (or some wood)

    (Won't work on a cushioned surface... sinks in and it gets in the way of the keys) #typewriter

      @peterrenshaw LOL it's a bit harder than a PC to use... now, if only I had been practicing more piano for the finger control, lol. (you do have to control pressure on every key to get it even, yeesh). There are a couple of mistakes, but not too terrible, given my normal typo rate, ha ha.

      @ai6yr when I learned typing (yeah I had typing in F3/Y9 at HS) hands across F & J key using all the fingers. That allows you to ‘touch-type’ at 40 wpm+. A key signature is lighter Pp & Qq because you use your L & R pinkies. Hard work to get even keystroke pressure.

      Modern laptops have killed k/b typing with their spongy, zero effort travel & their shoddy design. Hence I stick with my honkin’ DAS keyboard with blue cherry switches for non laptop work. It’s all about the sound feedback.

      Let's run this through some more substantial text, make sure it is all running smoothly. #typewriter

      @ai6yr no mistakes and even finger pressure. I’m impressed how the machine is operating.

      (OCR not working on that, and I'm not going to type that whole passage again... pg. 49 of "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep" by Philip K. Dick")

      @ai6yr
      I grabbed the image you posted, re-uploaded it to Mastodon, used 'add text from image' and it mostly OCR'ed just fine. It only got truly squirrelly when it got to the bar

      Here's the unedited OCR output
