   My fridge doesn't have an alarm so it stayed open for a solid 40 minutes until I noticed

     @koyu you just add it to your existing home alarm system. Paste one side of the sensor on the fridge body, and another on the door.
     
     They come as add ons, and you just peel off the wax paper before applying.
     
     if it opens while your home is armed, an alert will sound.
