@PNS There's a tendency to think that the Times of Israel is a fairly centrist opinion. The majority of Jews I've met and talked to about religion, which is a fairly small sample, have espoused their atheism. I wonder if the circle can be squared to allow the profound ego without the call to God. I assume, in this piece, the reference to God is simply a useful tool to fortify Jewish excellence, in their opinion.
