Regarding the Autistici shutdown thing, did they have to close down because they're worried about extralegal bullshit by the USA, or because their host country for some reason decided to bend knee to the USA and somehow considered they still had meaningful opinions worth paying attention to on such matters?

@lispi314 if you recall wikileaks, the way americans do their horseshit is by moving stuff around on their lists. there's usually pre-positioned rhetoric around the list itself, so they don't have to justify it.
it just becomes "put leftist we don't like on the bad person list" followed by "supporting terrorists is doing a terrorism so we're allowed to invade/sanction/whatever now" and the other countries usually just fold.
they basically told sweden if they didn't ignore their laws and jail the pirate bay immediately they were going to make everyone sanction sweden, using this exact type of mechanism.
