Contemplating the comparison of LLM use with asbestos and finding it a poor match.

Asbestos, as a physical material, often served its function well - it was only that it had very deadly side effects (in certain times unknown to users).

LLMs are in aggregate more like Ultra Processed Food (UPFs). This is food which mostly contains filler (emulsifiers) which have detrimental health effects and don't add anything to the food, aside of the impression of substance and padding the bottom line.
