@mwl you're likely to wreck your plumbing with Draino and friends, not with this. -

Someone pointed me at https://www.harborfreight.com/25-ft-drill-powered-drain-auger-59721.html for fixing clogged drains. I'd spend the $30 to get my sink back.
Anyone use these before? am I likely to wreck my plumbing?

Apartment kitchen sink stopped up Tuesday. Checked the trap, it's clear: the clog is way down. Put in a request for help. Was told they'd see me by close of business Tuesday or maybe Wednesday morning.
Wednesday, was told it would be Thursday or, at worst, Friday.
Storm took the power out Thursday afternoon through Friday evening.
There's a maintenance guy on site today, but he's dealing with emergencies from the power outage.
Asked the complex manager. She said it'd be Tuesday at least, and I should buy some Drano.
Drano is a great way to alienate the maintenance people.
So I'm buying paper plates, plastic forks, and microwave meals.
