didnt even get to post i am in sg before this crazy day happened
> arrive from jb in the morning
> go to a hawker centre for breakfast
> stall selling fried pork belly with shrimp rice for 5 SGD
> check reviews
> earliest a month ago but all positive
> cool lets support a new place
> pretty tasty
> walk to the hackathon i wanted to attend
> 3 hours after feeling like i am about to throw up
> hackathon venue has ONE unisex bathroom stall for ~80 people
> quickly run to a nearby mall and violently throw up in the bathroom 3 times
> drink more water
> throw up 2 more times
> kind of fucked, sweating all over and feel to weak to even stand up
> reluctantly dial 999 and ask for an ambulance
> open the door to my stall in case i pass out
> most sinkies just ignore the angmoh lying on the toilet floor, but a few ask if i am okay
> one encourages me to get out and sit outside
> get out
> there is nowhere to sit and he just looks at me like :cat_alien: and walks off
> sit on the floor by the wall
> mall manager arrives
> “have you been our since tonight or last night?”
> ffs she thinks i am an alchoholic on a bender
> finally get into an ambulance
> super chill young employees congratulating on my recent birthday, asking me why I have a malaysian driving license and when i am switching it to an sg one. meanwhile I am just trying to hold it in, unsuccessfully
> get to raffles hospital
> takes one hour until a single nurse takes a look and the first responders can finally leave, throw up one more time this time with smth red mixed in
> get the meds and stop throwing up
> nurse says they will run blood tests and discharge me in 2 hours
> get diarrhea and mad fever instead
> nurse gives me an extra blanket on top of the one first responders gave
> still too fucking cold, shivering
> after yelling “sorry” and “miss” 10 times (the nurses seemingly do not check in on the patients otherwise) the nurse just says “sir, what can I do, its your body”
> ask her for more blankets
> she gives me 2 more
> after 20 minutes tell her its still too cold
> she, clearly annoyed, drops 4 more blankets at me
> problem solved
> after 3 hours ask the nurses 3 times about blood tests in 20 minute intervals
> they are annoyed like they didnt say it would be done an hour ago
> finally blood tests are done
> nurse says they will discharge me “in due time” and just does nothing for 30 minutes
> meanwhile I am stressed because I left my bag with my passport and laptop at the event space, and the event is about to be over
> finally discharged
> need to wait for meds collection and payment
> no queue system whatsoever, they just shout random names
> look at the price rates meanwhile
> emergency consultation - 250 sgd, room - 280 sgd etc etc
> realize i might not even have enough local money if the total bill ends up being 500-1000 sgd
> come nervously to the counter to pick up meds and pay
> “your total is 130 dollars”
> MAJULAH SINGAPURA
> turns out when the government ambulance drops you you pay the rates they set, not the hospital
> rush back to the event
> everyone already gone, organizers cleaning up
> my mac and passport completely untouched
> MAJULAH SINGAPURA X2
