@danlyke It's not bad when you have a working international sharing of powers. We should want to have a world where we can trust international institutions not to immediately follow the decrees of one country's fascist dictator. But given how bad a job we're doing, in addition to fighting to rebuild functional institutions, we need more resilient things.

    @LukefromDC@kolektiva.social We also need to be laying the groundwork for the next generation of decentralized social networking that can't be dismantled this way. The fediverse is incredibly vulnerable to DNS seizure (the technical part of the attack on A/I) to break federation and relationships across instances, and that vulnerability is entirely gratuitous from bad design choices in the protocol and failure to give users autonomous identity.
