   My NTP server (a Raspberry Pi Model B Rev 2 with a uBlox MAX-M8Q module) has been offline for over two months. Turns out it was DNSWVLAN configuration. For this switch, apparently changes take effect when made, but if one wants them to survive a power cycle, one must click "save".

     More than 1 Red Hat admin has been caught by that :-/

     someone spent too much time with ciscos. all of us have probably done a running config change to see if it did what we wanted, got distracted and didn't write the config, and got surprised on reboot. if you write your gear software to do this, it should warn you.
