   @elebertus Oh, eew. Yes, there's a trend nowadays to change everything to async. Probably inspired by hideous programming idioms that came out of javascript, and that being these people's first exposure to programming.

     @dalias @elebertus Async tainting/coloring all the code everywhere in languages lacking better concurrency options did awful things to program design & habits.
     
     Though this shouldn't be using concurrency at all. There should be configuration installed somewhere describing the various options.
