I work at a radio station. Before the advent of AI, I listened to most of the new music we received to know if it was any good. Now, whenever I receive a song with AI-generated image, I don't even press play, I know it's gonna be crap. I don't feel even remotely guilty for it.

@fesshole Well , “don’t judge a book by its cover” and this is the age when I ABSOLUTELY INSIST and INTENTIONALLY DISREGARD that statement/phrase 😹
Kinda sad though, because you used to save your judgement until *after* you read/listened/knew/experienced something and you also tried to keep an open mind about it . -

Not a bad practice. The song may not be crap, but artists should be discouraged from using AI album covers.I recently read a post urging solidarity among artists to resist AI. It seems that while most artists will not use AI for their own medium, they have no problem using it for something to accompany their work. E.g., musicians using AI album covers, movie producers using AI music.

@fesshole All Ai music is derivative by definition. It is incapable of producing anything new it's never heard of.

@fesshole Zero guilt. The algorithm already told you everything you needed to know.

@fesshole Waxing poetic:
While not being the exact trajectory of a wax hall of Presidents, Val Kilmer was recently honored in an #AI movie that reproduces his image.
Acceptable as a distant art form, kept remote from vital infrastructure, this next-stage Search Engine is acceptable.
But not in the hands of abusive #TechBros and #FossilFuels #Oligarchy, with their crony politicians writing policy for them.
Then again, at this point, it's impossible to legislate the difference- and it worsens.

@fesshole AI can't replace humans. Music should be made from humans for humans.

"With 855 stations, iHeartMedia is the largest radio station group owner in the United States"Too many, and none of them talk about the overthrow by billionaire traitors. as planned.
How many radio stations are talking about the overthrow by the treasonous pulling all the strings at the top?
It's the biggest conspiracy of America's history, yet crickets on all airwaves. -

@fesshole This is probably mostly the right approach. However Radio Moderators have always moved the needle several times to listen to different parts of the song in order to filter out quickly. Also I am pretty good at making music, but not so good at creating cover images. That is why I depend on AI to create them. Too bad you will miss my music that way.
Honestly I can live with that as Radio is no real marketing channel anyways nowadays.
