Acid test for the #FriendsOfIsraelCabinet.
In a statement in response to Israel’s E1 settlement plan – which is illegal under international law – Ed Miliband said the UK would “not stand back and accept the destruction of the two-state solution”.
The E1 project would see around 3400 homes built on strategic Palestinian land, effectively dividing the West Bank in two. It is explicitly aimed at making a two-state solution to the Israel-Palestine conflict impossible.

@JackTheCat The UK government hasn't just stood back and made two-state solutions more difficult, they've actively assisted the Israeli government in prosecuting its genocidal war against Palestinians in Gaza.

@JackTheCat They've provided Israel with intelligence via over flights from Cyprus, manufactured weapons used in the conflict, provided various forms of cultural and political protection to Israel's war criminal government, and aggressively targeted dissenting voices within the UK populace who rightly view Israel's actions as genocidal in nature and scope.

@JackTheCat And they've done so while calling people of uncompromising high moral character and great personal courage anti-semites and terrorists, while those people themselves talk of universal human brotherhood and dignity. I know who I believe and it's not Starmer's government. Will the UK government under Burnham be any better? I don't know, but it's hard for me to not see Starmer's prior government as anything less than, at a minimum, genocide's hand maidens.
