A 300 bps modem was all there was, and then a 2400 bps modem was an insanely fast modem. Then we got 9600, then 14,4, 28,8, 36,6, and eventually 56k.

56K.... in theory. We usually got closer to 40-45k. Anyone else remember those modem codes?

Then we got a fucking cable modem, 768k down, and best modulated phone up, usually 28.8, at best 33.6.

No, you fucking kids do not know slow.
