   @neil @babe I caused a little bit of upset at work last year by asking about DPIAs after an AI powered internal search engine was introduced and started indexing/consuming things like 1:1 notes.

   Eventually got buy-in/understanding that it should _at least_ have been pre-warned but it saddens me that it even needed fighting about

     @ben @neil @babe Some HR people tend to be very lazy and uniformed completely devoid of any sensible or proactive thought.

     My daughter switched jobs in May 2026. Her private, off the record exit interview (at the urging of the same idiotic HR folk) was summarised and misinterpreted by AI and circulated to all parties without her prior consent.

     @ben @andyc @neil @babe It's not either. It's confabulation of something likely to be accepted as if it were a summarization because it looks like a summary.

     @andyc @neil @babe Yeah, that's a real pain too :(

     If I'm taking the time to give feedback, it's likely that I'll very thoughtful and deliberate with my words, which means that, really, I want *exactly* those words conveyed on.

     Part of the problem is that a lot of (most, even?) people don't seem to understand that what AI does isn't summarisation, it's abridgement - entire points get deleted
