For me, the underlying cause of so many problems is the removal of people's will & love from their own lives. Like how much do people get to _do_ what brings them real joy? How much of the material or social world around us can be impacted by our lives?
Why would we be surprised that people are checked out, angry, or ignorant when everything around them is telling them their choices are limited to what they can get paid for or what they can pay for?
