the difference here is that they probably don’t have the choice in their own survival, and they can be there to mitigate harm
an actor working on a harry potter project has more options in life, and hugh laurie certianly does, which imbues the action with more meaning and weight
and there is no mitigating the execution of someone transphobic’s artistic vision, further raising her profile. for mutual profit

  @sillyCoelophysis@hachyderm.io @magicalgirlsabrina@mastodon.social To draw a parallel, I have a lot of friends, and even relatives, who are continuing to work for the U.S. federal government during the current administration. I think that's a major moral failure and I think less of them because of it. But I don't think it makes them fascists.

  quite obviously
  only when it comes to trans people (but especially when it comes to harry potter) do people make up 1 million excuses so that they can do whatever they wanted to anyway
