There's a fairly simple principle that I've seen at work in society:

Different social groups and social systems which focus upon power-over (a.k.a. dominance) as a central organizing principle, will tend to collude with and support each other.

Dominance oriented ideations and value systems mesh well with other dominance oriented ideations and value systems.

It is a clustering effect of like-minded views.

Power speaks to power.
