@hipsterelectron One can choose to speak to prevent torture which is moral cowardice, but for anyone to assume they can withstand torture is absurd. "Well I would simply rise above psychological torture and excruciating pain done over days or weeks such that I would never say something that would harm someone who didn't deserve it." That is wishful thinking in exactly the same sort of way that "solving" the trolley problem is. It doesn't contend with the actual constraints imposed on us by reality.
