   Saw some woman buying one of these ultra cheap welders, and realized her little kid was carrying it. I hope she's not buying it for the kid for a toy 😬(I was tempted to buy one myself, but given the advice I had gotten here about these being terrible, skipped it). #welding

     @ai6yr I've got a 120V stick welder, made by a real brand (Lincoln). Not only is it VERY tricky to get a good weld, it's even trickier to find an application where this is actually an appropriate tool. Basically no penetration at all.

     The kind of lighter materials it could handle would be worked far better with a MIG or TIG rig, not a stick. Don't bother with tiny stick welders.
